Deodorize with baking soda

Our body sweat can get absorbed in the mattresses and get dried up to leave a mild stink in the layers of the surface. Sprinkle baking soda over your mattress and gently rub the surface with a soft brush. Baking soda will help in taking the smell off the mattress and leaving a fresh smell. Let the baking soda get absorbed by the surface and wait for ten minutes.

Vacuum Again

When the baking soda is rubbed over the parts of sweaty surfaces, the moisture and body oils on the top layer of the material will be absorbed by it. Now use the vacuum again to suck off the moisture as well as the cause of the odour.

Remove the stains

The stains can be of beverages, blood, urine and other body fluids. It is good to clean such stains immediately as it can leave a permanent mark on the fabric. But you can still clean up the long-lived stains if you have forgotten to clean them instantly.

Blood stains can be cleaned with a paste of hydrogen peroxide, liquid dish soap and table salt. Spread the paste on the top of the stain and scrape of the residue. Clean the latter with a clean cloth.

Urine stains can be removed with a combination of little baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and a tiny amount of liquid dish soap. Apply the mixture over the stain and wipe it off with a clean cloth. Urine stains can also be cleaned with detergent.

If you have vomit stains or other stubborn stains, use baking soda and household ammonia to lightly dampen the surface of the stain but not too much. Then use a clean cloth to damp it with fresh water and wipe the stain.  Avoid spreading it to a larger surface. Try out the steps again and again till the stain is removed once the stain is gone. Use baking soda to neutralise ammonia and use a vacuum to remove any moisture.

Repeat the same steps for any stains on the other side of the mattress.
